Did you know that right behind Facebook, YouTube is the next most popular website. Stunning statistics show that 52% of Internet traffic is now video, 70% of web surfers watch video on-line, and the average YouTube visitor spends 27 minutes a day watching videos.
Let’s face it videos are turning some ordinary people into celebrities overnight. What exactly does this mean? Well if you are an aspiring model and you don’t have a channel on YouTube that’s a problem. Get yourself a a Flip Video and record yourself posing, modeling and talking about your aspirations of modeling. Video is so powerful and it is currently in style.
Get creative in your approach and think outside the box. If you look like a celebrity talk about that and show it in your video. If you want to break into the video vixen market, do a video showing your figure. If you have nice hands showcase them in a video as body part modeling is a option. Whatever your niche is show it.
Market Yourself
When you have your video ready, why not send that to the agency via email along with your snap shots introducing yourself. Unlike pictures, videos show you live in the moment. This can be intimidating for some so make sure you videotape yourself and play it over several times so you can see how you look.
Personal Experience
I recently took a basic Commercial Technique class and I learned so much about myself. I was doing things on camera that I had no idea I was doing. One thing I learned is that I nod my head a lot when I am talking to people to let them know I am listening but on camera I looked like a crazy woman. I quickly broke the habit by putting a piece of tape on my neck. I still nod when I am face to face with someone but not on camera because I am aware of it.
One of my agents is now incorporating video for their clients to see their talent live and in person. Again, you can’t get this from a photograph. So get ahead of the crowd and make yourself a video.
